He has been the on-screen singing voice of various Nepali movie stars. He is referred as "Rai is King" and has recorded several private albums such as Darshan Namaste, Rai is King, Syamuna and Darshan Namaste 2 and 3 etc. He has also sung in Bhojpuri as well as Japanese language. Early Years Rajesh Payal Rai was born on 30 September 1975 to father Ratna Rai, who was a formar chief of Khotang District and Ex British Army, and mother Sancha Laxmi Rai in Khotang, Nepal. He went to Champawati Secondary School and came to Kathmandu for further education where he joined Ratna Rajya College. Musical Career As he was interest in singing and music, he went to Radio Nepal at the young age of 13 and passed the voice test. He started his musical career from 1992 with the famous song "Failiyo Maya Dubo Sari". He was encouraged to continue singing. He released his fist solo musical album called "Murchana" in 2052 BS. He has sung in more than 500 Nepali movies and made a new record history in the Nepali film industry. .
