Milan Amatya is well known for her remarkable work in Nepali music industry. She emerged as one of the most sought after female singer along with Anju Panta and Melina Rai. She has been singing since childhood and she is able to sing in Nepali, Hindi, Rajasthani and Assami language.

Early Years

Milan Amatya was born and brought up in Assam, India to Ganesh Newar and Ambika Newar. Her favorite place is Pokhara and favorite food is Nepali Dal-Bhat. Her training in music began from an early age of 4 at her birthplace but later she started to take training in Guwahati at the age of 11 for more exposure to the musical world. Her musical inspiration is her aunt Dukuna Newar as well as her father and mother.

Musical Career

Milan Amatya's musical journey began from her childhood years. She took classical training from Guru Subhash Das (Calcutta) and Rajasthani Folk Song training from Shree Badri Vyas (Assam). In Guwahait, she joined a music production company Surganga where she participated in All India Musical Competition judged by renowned Nausad Ali and Pinaz Masani. She was the 1st runner up of the show and after this there was no looking back for her. She performed in many languages like Nepali, Hindi, Aassami and Rajasthani. With her father's encouragement she came to Nepal to extend her talent in singing career. She released her first album Milan and got good response for her album especially the song "Jahile Samma Sansar Ma". She sings classical, pop, modern, ghazal, festival, devotional, patriotic and movie songs. Milan has performed hundreds of songs and gave her voice for many Nepali actors.

Personal Life

After six years of marriage she got divorced with her husband Mension Amatya due to some personal issues.
