Kali Prasad Baskota is a singer, songwriter, music composer and playback singer who is known for his remarkable work in Nepali movie and music industry. He is among the most renowned singer and composer of Nepal. His is best known for the songs such as Jaalma, Laija Re, Saili, Chahana Sakiyo, Daiba Hey, Nira and many more. He is a vegetarian since birth. He loves to travel and is a great football fan.

Early Years

Kali Prasad Baskota started taking music classes from 1999. He is a mechanical Engineer and before his journey as a musician, he worked as a Senior Production Officer at Tilganga Eye Hospital for a decade. Currently he is one of the three judges of Nepal Idol along with Nhyoo Bajracharya and Indira Joshi.

Musical Career

His musical career as a songwriter and composer began with Shashi Rawal's "Chahana Sakiyo Bahana Sakiyo" but the release of the song "Pari Tyo Dadama (Jaalma)" from the movie Resham Filili made him one of the most successful musicians of Nepal. That one song turned him into the most famous and sought after musicians. Almost all of his songs are super hits and well received by the audience. He has been honored with many awards for his remarkable work. He went on to win heart of people with the songs Laija Re and Saili. He contributed his musical works in movies such as 'Loot 2', 'Kabaddi Kabaddi', 'Kohalpur Express', 'Malatiko Bhatti', 'Reshan Filili', 'Manjari', 'Gangster Blues', 'Mr. Jholey' and many more.
