Early Years

Kamal Khatri was born on 24 November 1983 to Puskar Bahadur Khatri and Laxmi Devi Khatri in Sarlahi, Nepal. His father was a banker. He completed his schooling from Shree Chakra Janata Higher Secondary School and moved to Kathmandu in 2059 BS and joined Ratna Rajya College. He didn’t continue his studies. He struggled a lot in his life and worked as a technician in a studio so that he can be close to the music.

Musical Career

Kamal's singing career began upon participating in a program Adhunik Song Competition of Radio Nepal in the year 2005. Later he joined Ethos Band as a main vocalist and released hit song like "Sustari Suatari". He released a solo album "Pida" the year 2067 BS. The album did not do well as anticipated but he again released his album "Aatma Ma" in the year 2069 and it became instant hit in the music industry and made him a superstar overnight with the song Aatma Ma. He writes and composes his own songs and also a playback singer in Nepali movies. His popular songs are Aatma Ma, Tasbir (Raat Bityo), Najik Chau Timi, Bachne Asha Ma, Timi Chau Ra Ta, Kasim, Jaula Railai Ma etc.
