Om Bikram Bista was born on February 16, 1955 in Kathmandu, Nepal to father Daulat Bikram Bista and mother Nutan Kumari Bista. He has Bachelor's Degree in Arts.

Early Years

He got interested in music from childhood as his family members were passionate about music as well. He competed in "All Nepal Music Competition" at the young age of ten. He considers music as his best friend. He has given numerous songs for more than three decades to Nepali music industry.

Musical Career

He added new height to Nepali music by introducing pop music for the first time in Nepal. He is considered as the "King of Pop" in Nepal. In 2029 Bs, he started singing in Radio Nepal which helped him to reach out to wider audiences. He has recorded more than 400 songs and performed in more than 2000 stage shows all over the world. His "Ma Mauntama" was the first pop song in the history of Nepali music.
