Durgesh Thapa was born on 22 May 1990 in Sikkim, India to father, Hem Bahadur Thapa and mother, Pabitra Kumari Thapa. Durgesh was born in india because his father was working for the Indian Army and was crucial to be there. He has 3 siblings. Durgesh was only 5 years old before he shifted back to Nepal to begin his education. Furthermore he did his education and schooling at Shree Janahit Ma Vi in Malma, Baglung till 8th grade and then shifted to India and continued further education. In contrast for further education he did SLC in India, then moved back home in Baglung.

After some time popular Nepali singer Basanta Thapa convinced him to follow him to go to Kathmandu to join for further education and make his career on musical fields. Durgesh came to Kathmandu and joined White House International College and completed his +2 level. After wards he pursued BSC from Amrit Science College to expand his knowledge in science. Basanta Thapa introduced Durgesh to a company called Krishna Films to practice more of dancing to enhance his dancing skills even more. So Durgesh took dance lessons from Krishna Films with the most talented Nepali choreographer and dancer Shankar BC to make sure dancing wouldn’t be a weak point in his career. He started modelling career field when he was studying in 12th grade.

Basanta Thapa gave him a brake in modelling field and finally he debuted as a model on a music video Jun Le Matra Dekhchha by Basanta Thapa and Bishnu Majhi. Indra Shrestha owner of Dhaulagiri Cassette Centre gave him a Second opportunity to appear in the song Maya Layera Ke Bho by Ramchandra Kafle. Later Subash Regmi from Bindabasini Music gave him to star in many songs. The music video became very popular and was noticed by many directors. After that he never had to look back meaning he was very popular. He continued his journey and made his major profession and he appeared in more than seven hundred of Nepali music videos.

Durgesh Thapa was successful to get a name with his modelling career, he has received many offers to perform at concerts, festivals etc. His live performance in Dubai, Qatar, Hong Kong were very successful and received tremendous responses from the audiences. He also gave his live performance in many cities of Nepal Durgesh Thapa is always appreciate and wants to thanks especially to Mr Basanta Thapa. He took Basanta as a god father. He cannot imagine his career without him. He also thanks all the companies who believe in his work and gave him a chance to work with them. He always remembers and thanks his co-stars for their support.

The amazingly talented Durgesh is not only talented in dancing, Modelling but also in singing. He started his musical career with his first debut song Muddha Haldinchhu. The song was very poplular and appreciated by most of the Nepali music lovers which also raised the charm of Durgesh in Nepali Music Industry. After gaining the popularity from his first song later he came with other songs like Dukha Parda Gun, Yo Yo Durgeshh Thapa, Chhoto Mini Skirt, Yo Garda ni bhayena. He also sang for the Nepali Movie Makhamali. He also appeared as an actor in the movie Makhamali.
